About project

Fig Loans is a fintech startup that provides installment loans to individuals with low or no credit, offering a better alternative to payday loans while helping them build credit.

As the startup rapidly grew, they outgrew their front-end web experience and lacked the in-house resources for updates. Founder Jeff Zhou sought a long-term partner for redesign support, which led him to choose Warmsides.

Our team aimed to collaborate efficiently with Fig Loans to create the desired website. After receiving the designs from Fig Loans, the Warmsides engineering team provided cost estimates and timelines for the project.

Creating an optimal user flow with React

The Warmsides team decided to build the project using React and Gatsby. Our goal was to ensure a seamless user flow, as Fig Loans focuses on simplifying the borrowing process for users. It was essential that their new website made this experience as easy and straightforward as possible

Achieving harmony between the front end and back end

After the Warmsides engineering team completed the front end, we shifted our attention to the back end. We collaborated with Fig Loans to define the back-end functionality needed for seamless integration with the newly developed front end. When they launch their new site, all components will work together effortlessly

Integrating with third-party APIs

A crucial aspect of this project was ensuring that Fig Loans' new site seamlessly integrated with various third-party APIs. This functionality is vital for instilling trust when users share their personal and financial information. We built the site to connect with Plaid’s financial platform APIs and other services that assist with document recognition.

Fig Loans sought a partner to guide them through updating their technology, and Warmsides is dedicated to fulfilling that role. We believe the best results stem from a close and supportive collaboration. Our goal is to merge both teams into a cohesive unit working effectively toward a common objective
